Sharon leads the Investment Operations team. She joined Bridgeway in 2010 with more than 30 years of investment management industry experience, primarily focused in operations. Sharon previously worked at First City National Bank, Texas American Bank, Westcap Securities, and Invesco. At Invesco, she was responsible for portfolio operations which included trade processing and support, reconciliations, cash reporting and securities lending. She supported multiple product lines including mutual funds, sub-advised funds, separate accounts and ETFs.
Sharon graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Business Management from the University of Houston. At Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Sharon leads a lunch program for the homeless, is an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and is a member of the Military Ministry.
Steven “Chuck” Bates
Chuck works on the Investment Operations team supporting trading and investment management functions. He worked in sales for Direct Trading in Dallas and as a customer service manager at Ameritrade before joining Bridgeway in 2004.
Chuck earned his BBA in Economics from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He is involved with Navidad en el Barrio, a nonprofit in Houston that touches the lives of the less fortunate serving more than 2,000 children and families each year.
Richard Haggard II
Rick works on the Investment Operations team supporting trading, investment management, and technology. He joined Bridgeway in 2015 with over 20 years of financial services experience, primarily in the investment management industry with a focus on information technology and the support of trading and back office operations. Rick previously worked at BBVA Compass in support of their Corporate and Investment Banking division in North America and at Invesco as an IT Business Analyst/Project Manager supporting investment operations globally.
Rick graduated Cum Laude from American Sentinel University with a MS in Information Systems. He also earned a BS in Computer Information Systems from American Sentinel University. Rick is a longtime supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project and St Jude’s Research Hospital. He has also served the community by assisting local area Houston elementary schools in renovating and modernizing their computer labs, working toward providing every student with a quality education.
Monika focuses on Bridgeway's investment operations and client service for Bridgeway separately managed account clients. She joined Bridgeway in 1998, and her past roles have involved fund and corporate accounting, compliance, and performance reporting. Prior to joining Bridgeway, she worked in fund accounting at AIM Management (currently Invesco).
Monika earned her BS in Finance from the University of Houston and participates in the alumni association. She participated in Bridgeway's service trip to Peru, she is active in PTO and her children's schools and with InterNations, an organization for expatriates.
Carey Peek, CFA
Carey is primarily responsible for performance analysis and risk management and is the chair of the Portfolio Review and Risk Committee. She joined Bridgeway in 2005 as part of the Investment Management Team, where she was responsible for performing research and analysis, ensuring data quality, and maintaining data models.
Carey received her MBA at Harvard Business School, and she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University with a BA in Economics and Communications Studies. She is a CFA charterholder. Before joining Bridgeway, she worked as a fifth-grade teacher in Houston through Teach for America. Still passionate about education, she volunteers in the education reform community.
Ian joined Bridgeway in 2017 and is responsible for technology leadership and strategy. Ian has over 20 years of investment management industry experience and, prior to joining Bridgeway, served as the Chief Technology Officer for Rainier Investment Management and Vice President of Information Technology for Gartmore Global Investments.
Ian graduated with a BS in Computer Science from Arkansas Tech University. Among other interests, Ian spends his free time involved in his children’s schools, youth sports, and promoting performing arts for all ages.
Pei Weng, CFA
Pei joined Bridgeway in 2016 and is responsible for performance measurement and analysis and risk management. Prior to joining Bridgeway, Pei spent 16 years at Invesco as a senior portfolio risk analyst as a member of the Global Performance and Risk Team and as a senior quantitative analyst conducting research, model construction and portfolio management of the AIM Select Equity Fund and AIM Global Equity Fund. Pei also worked at Bank of America Capital Management as a quantitative analyst developing new models and executing performance and risk management.
Pei earned a BS in Industrial Automation from Tsinghua University and an MS in Computer Science and MBA from Washington University in St. Louis and is a CFA charterholder. She is passionate about education, specifically areas in effective parenting/teaching, and providing quality education to all children.
